Development of first generation C-frame
1998 a project to design a high reach light weight C-frame was initiated. The goal was to reach a half car width with weight low enough for robot handling. The first result, generation 1, was the CCF (Carbon fibre C-Frame). The CCF showed the same behavior as conventionel C-frame but to significant lower weight. The properties was achived by combining steel, carbon fibre and aluminium. The CCF fullfilled the goal but was rather expensive to produce
